Bob and Randy Burns and the support crew, Nichole Banks returned from Oshkosh Air Show victoriously!! They had quite an adventure and came home with a huge win. Their Hiller 0H23, built in 1959 and re-built by Bob and Pat Pokrus of Mineral Wells, TX won the
CHAMPION MILITARY CLASSIC!!
Bob and Pat also each won the SILVER WRENCH award for exceptional mechanical accomplishments. This is Bob's second Silver Wrench and that
is somewhat unprecidented.

Cedar Wind Farm is a facility that supports many different equestrian activities. Our primary focus is Dressage. We have a fairly large program for children to learn the basics about horsemanship as well as riding. We start them at 8 years. We also hold adult classes twice a week in the evenings and weekends. We have several school masters through the FEI Dressage levels and others that are just good basic school mounts. Our Summer Adult Dressage Camp has become very popular. In mid June we host about 18 adult Dressage enthusiasts who come from several states around. We have 4 instructors, each with particular focus. Pilates is a big part of the camp. Riders are lunged privately each day and work in groups as well as privately with each instructor. Through the year we hold several open Dressage Schooling Shows with “L” graduate or above judges. They are a wonderful opportunity for our riders to get inexpensive ring experience. Our farm is on 113 acres. Boarders and students can ride in the woods or in the hay fields and on the 2650 ft grass runway . Cedar Wind Farm is the home of the Rowan Oak Riders Pony Club. We have members from Memphis to Tupelo. We hold jumping or Eventing clinics here from time to time to for our Pony Club Members but which are open to other riders also.
This is the enterance to our farm. There are paddocks to the left and pastures to the right. Straight ahead is the formal Dressage arena. The road to the right leads to the big barn (Upper Barn) which is where the boarders have stalls. Horses are outside every day possible. In Summer heat they will go out at night and stay in during the day. There is an indoor arena to the left as well as another full sized Dressage arena that is fenced. We have another metal building that has panel stalls and tie stalls for the school ponies. We keep hay and some hay equipment there in the winter.
Every horse boarded here has a stall in case of inclimate weather. Boarders may choose to have their horses out 24/7 but they will always be brought in if weather looks dangerous.There is a beautiful small valley on the other side of the indoor arena were a small jumping course is set up for students and boarders to use. During the winter we will set some fences in the hay fields also. The Pony Club is working on building some moveable jumps tokeep up in the fields for cross country work. In the Fall and Winter the school ponies are allowed to graze on the 80 acres in the back. In the Spring and Summer they stay in the Valley and we farm hay.
